Who is hiding behind Oustao?

Oustao is first and foremost a story of friendship between us, Laura & Léa. Both from La Ciotat, a pretty town near Marseille, we met on the benches of high school. We worked for several years in London and Paris before returning to live in Marseille and embarking on the crazy entrepreneurial adventure in March 2021. At Oustao, there are 2 of us to manage the e-shop, social networks, collection development, manufacturing follow-up, packaging of your orders, commercial relations, accounting and many other things... You're never bored!

 

What are your desires with Oustao?

At Oustao, we combine our Mediterranean universe and craftsmanship to create unique ceramic objects. It is in Provence that we imagine and design each of our objects. They are then handcrafted and painted by hand in our French and Portuguese workshops. Transparency, authenticity and sustainability, that's all we wanted to promote by creating Oustao. We work in accordance with our values ​​and we take pleasure in transmitting them to you.

What are your inspirations?

We draw our inspiration from our Mediterranean origins. Each of our collections is a sweet blend of tradition and modernity; originality and timelessness. We like warm colors, natural materials. We are inspired by our childhood and those objects that we found in our family homes when we were little. We are also very much inspired by our Provençal region and its history.

Your favorite product?

Since always, the Amber cup. Because we loved drawing it and its original handle has become Oustao's trademark. But also because it is the object that accompanies us the most on a daily basis (team café).

New projects soon?

The living room, because it is synonymous with conviviality and sharing. This is where we meet to chat as a couple or with friends, to watch a movie, read, listen to music.

Tell us about your latest decoration purchase?

Vases, you can never have enough vases! This is surely felt in our collections elsewhere. We love them because they alone embellish a table, a shelf, a niche, a corner of a room… We love them even more with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
